Penetrate vs. Sage

Match of the Week

There weren't any nail-biters that wowed crowds as in Week 2, but the tightest match was between these two basing giants, as the perrenial Cintra (42-3) continued his strong play this season, not to be outdone by a much more in-form Zizu (42-6) who also played well and helmed the Sage side in a match that went back and forth up until 11-11, where Penetrate held a 3-4 minute cram to close out the match.

Royst (113-75), Solace (101-76), and Trasher (106-52), three of the most revered spiders in Trench Wars, took on overspidering duties, whilst they were evenly matched in the FR versus Gazo (116-73), Superstar-PROkiller (100-76), and wbm (89-74), who all played excellent and pushed hard.

Acidbomber (104-45) and Blahhy. (98-70) held under well as kess (86-68) and Zyclon (88-59) took them on. Kess no doubt at a disadvantage missing his usual partner NL>Trigger on the underside, made for some difficult situations where there was no follow on trying to root out Acid from the lower cram, creating the occasional imbalance in the FR battle.

Both teams had excellent crams, no doubt because each squad had their starting sharks in, as a2m (2.9 RPD) and TABARNAK!!! (3.0 RPD) went toe-to-toe with Veloce (2.9 RPD) and Fermata (2.8 RPD), in an extremely low-bombing/mining game, no doubt attributing to the mutual respect of each others' abilities.

Penetrate had the final word, however, putting forth a strong final cram to clinch an exciting and well-fought match.

Sweet vs. Dudgeon
15:00-10:23

This was the only other game that wasn't a blowout, as megaman89 (108-43) put the squeeze on his former LB squadron, with help from his former dice partners Cripple (102-60), sphinx (98-44), LF (100-50), and zeebu (87-52).

Burnt (30-8) got the W, but seemingly had his least impressive outing this season dying 8 times, despite his team outkilling Dudgeon 562-447 and the amazing Spider-Ma... er, Mikkiz (34-7, 5 teks!!) outplaying him at every turn, with an ungodly 5 teks to his 0.

Both terrs have been excellent this season, but the fivesome of dreamwin (100-68), Zizzo (76-72), gilder (70-54), Sakke (78-67) and nicholas (50-39) (subbing in for skyforger (26-39)) were unable to provide the necessary spider-power to turn the terrier's performance to their advantage.

Hulk (3.0 RPD) and Riverside (2.8 RPD, 2 teks) led Sweet's side in shark, performing solidly against the classic Dudgeon/LEGO duo of nokkonen (2.8 RPD) and Pardon (2.7 RPD).


MVP: Mikkiz, 34-7, 5 teks, and keeping the game close despite his team being outplayed


Pandora vs. Spastic
15:00-5:06

The final two games were blowouts, as Zidane (3.1 RPD) and Vatican Assassin (2.9 RPD) led Pandora with nice sharking performances, with superstar red-ship reaper Cape (33-4) in tow.

tim (90-41), Leitz (80-52), diakka (78-36), Spezza (82-45), and sarger (63-39, 4 teks!!) plowed through Spastic's defenses and took home the W in convincing fashion.

Eria (2.9 RPD) and Gran Guerrero (2.6) sharked ahead of Pure_Luck (20-12) in terr, whilst JAMAL (81-46) and RUCCI (78-52), and SPIDERHATE (58-54) put up solid outings on the losing side, perhaps a signal to the rest of Spastic that they should all capitalize their names, as only tj hazuki (52-63) went negative, with SPRAINED (50-49), not playing his best, still managing a +1.

MVP: tim, 90-41 with 2 teks, and bot MVP


Revenge vs. Raid
15:00-2:31

Raid played a joke line full of specials with everyone negging, behind Reaver (39-13) in terr.

warportal (26-8) made his LB debut of the season with a solid performance, despite facing multiple specials, and helmed DOWNFALL (3.0, 2 teks) and Vehicle (3.0 RPD) to a comfortable victory.

hellkite (75-26, 4 teks!!) led the way, with skatarius (70-35), M_M God (63-17) and Mean Gene (57-22) not far behind. I don't know what the hell Cig was doing, but he only managed a 37-30, getting outkilled by the enemy terr. Nice job, noob! :)

HOT Player of the Week: Mikkiz, proving once again he's the heart and soul of Dudgeon, and stretching the time-gains of a paper-thin roster to its absolute maximum potential

NOT Player of the Week: Cig, for almost negging in spider in a 15-2 blowout, and thinking he's a better RSHL goalie than me



Next Week:

Some really great match-ups coming to WEEK 4, as every game has the potential to be razor tight. Undefeated basing juggernauts Penetrate and Revenge go head-to-head in a clash of the titans.

Two other giants, who haven't been playing as well, will try to gain some momentum in the season, as Pandora takes on Sage.

Not to be outdone, two other extremely strong (and undefeated) basers, Sweet and Cobra will also cross swords in what should be a great match. LF, of course, no stranger to crossing swords, albeit in a different context.

Finally, Dudgeon vs. Spastic could also be entertaining as both these struggling squadrons vie for their first win.
