      New basing ship

      I dont base much to be honest, but i hate the fact in all basing ships 4 and 6 are unused. So my question would be, if you could design a ship for basing take ship 6 the weasel, what would you have??

      Mine would be a shark/spider hybrid so teams can choose either 1 or 2 sharks depending on what they need, limited perhaps to only 1 repel, but able to defend in base, not as strong as a spider but perhaps L1 bullets with half the bullet speed.

      Anyways since i dont base my suggestion of a ship is probably useless, so what are you thoughts??

      How about a ship that can cloak and stealth, undetected by xradar and can fly through walls and lay superlev mines while still cloaked with 15 bouncing shrap and Lanc gun bouncing bullets

      Maybe have 2 different variants of the Shark.

      Both would be identical (energy/recharge/3 reps), but one would have bombs/mine (like the one we have now), and the other has bullets.
      Don't know how to make the damage potential of the bullets similar to shark bombs with shrap, though. Single slow lvl 1/2 bullet, with the ability to green bouncing bullets? The bullet will only bounce 1-2 times, though. Ideally, the energy requirements for these bullets would be somewhat similar to the bombs (~4/5 bullets drains the entire energy of the ship, like mines), so the 2 ships are not all that much different from each other.

      Still have 2 shark limit, then teams can maybe come up with strategies on what combination of the 2 sharks to use in matches.

      O I am in public forum. I am pretty sure this will not work in pubs. Maybe in TWD/L's.

      i didnt mean for pub ofc, nor did i mean to introduce something straight into twd, was just curious on how we could utilise the other 2 ships, which adds variety to basing without changing the mechanics of it dramatically, and could potentially lead to different strategy's within basing, ie. if a cram is unbreakable for whatever reason, perhaps a different style of play utilising a different ship thats not gonna wipe a flag room like a standard levi would.

      An unbreakable cram becomes breakable at the presence of a levi bomb from the old leviathan or an infiltrating 1x1 weasel with cloak and stealth on an unsuspecting terr. They were perfect for those scenarios but people thought they were too lame to use so we changed them. What a bunch of whiners.

      Perhaps, if it were included in a basing match, you could probably limit the ships use to a couple minutes during each round or allowing its presence as a bonus for achieving a goal such as owning the flag for 10 consecutive minutes. The inspiration would be the Call Of Duty's use of an air strike after a 5 kill streak.

      i say we leave it as it is, base is base and stays base. i personally do not see a reason why it should be changed, its not broken. no need to touch not-broken things imo.

      We have wb that shoots 1 bullet
      Lanc that shoots 2 bullets
      Spider that shoots multiple bullets

      We have most bases covered.

      If we were to make a new ship, it would probably contain a combination of burst/rep/decoy and once we begin to do something like that, we start to lose our originality as the simplistic zone in continuum that many of us enjoy and start the path to becoming more like Extreme games or DSB.

      Just my thoughts :3

      give the weasel a short range fast bursting l1. huge energy reserve, but slow recharge and a cloak that only lasted 5 seconds would be good (at full energy).

      Again i havent said i was changing basing, and the offensive ships can be varied between lanc/wb/spider i guess i was looking at shark and thinking at a viable alternative to using 1 or 2 sharks for base, which is what made me curious. I may setup a twbd map (although not twbd ofc) with a few different settings for private hosting to see how it would affect game dynamics. Oh and limiting special ships is just a whinge fis, if a team wants to add 4 javs its not ruining the fun for them, this isnt all about you ya know :P Anyways joking aside as i said, its just to see if anyone had a creative but workable idea, that doesnt ruin basing but would allow different strategy's to be used by teams.

      I've been vouching this for a while, but seems like not too jump on.

      Let's make a new BD map, with maybe 2 cram slots, and a bigger flagroom. So more of the bd match will be held in the flagroom instead of a boring cram. I wouldn't mind trying to make this map, if its simple to do with a program.. but I have no clue how to approach it.

      Of course, as a side to the BD map we gave now. The second map would be for the vets who are probably tired of playing on the same map 10000x and have memorized every angle for every shot/burst.

      3 terrs. Ship 5 normal terr, ship 4 a slower terr with more energy, ship 6 a normal terr with some different combo of utilities, like 2 ports 0 bursts.

      regardless of the specifics, a choice of 3 motherships might spice things up for terriers.

      maybe take 2 ships and split them, like ferm said. have 2 types of sharks and 2 types of terrs or spiders or something

      i mean spiders often divide into over/under, campy/pushy so why not look at splitting them up?

      can also add moderately fast red emp ship with large recoil and huge bomb delay, with extremely slow lv1 single fire bullets with 1 repel
      also xradar
